Welcome to the Pan Group! We are interested in creating artificial molecular machines that can serve as taskable agents for biosystems engineering. Research projects in the lab focus on developing both theoretical and experimental tools that help design, fabricate, and characterize such tiny machines. We use biomolecules and nanomaterials as our building blocks, and utilize methods from Bio-nanotechnology, Synthetic Biology, biochemistry, and biophysics to create functional nanomachines. The outcome of our research is translational to applications in healthcare, agriculture, energy, and the environment. Follow the links on the left to learn more about us!

We are building an interdisciplinary team and welcome students/researchers from all backgrounds to join! If you share the same interest in molecular machines and feel you are a good fit for the lab, please send an email to Dr. Jing Pan to start the conversation!
